IIFCL to double InvITs exposure to ₹6,000 cr this fiscal
New Delhi: State-owned India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd (IIFCL) is aiming to double its exposure in Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) to ₹6,000 crore during the ongoing fiscal year as part of its investment diversification strategy.
Duty concessions to SEZ for DTA clearances likely to find few takers
Aiming to help the units in Special Economic Zones (SEZ) utilise their capacities better without placing the domestic tariff area (DTA) units at a disadvantage, the government has reduced the Customs duty rates on clearance of goods manufactured by them into DTA. The concessions are modest except for items that attract high duty rates. The conditions for availing the exemption are irksome.

Work on Vande Bharat sleeper trains has hit a new milestone this week as Kinet Railway Solution successfully completed its first car body. The update comes mere weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first Vande Bharat sleeper train between Kamakhya and Howrah. The manufacturing of the first car body was carried out at the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory in Latur, Maharashtra.The company said in a statement “We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the first fully integrated car body at our Latur facility,”.

New Delhi: Indian Railways has sanctioned an important project for strengthening its communication infrastructure in Western Railway with the approval of the provision of 4x48 Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) Backbone in Ahmedabad and Ratlam Divisions at a total cost of ₹398.36 crore.

Kandla Port logs record cargo handling in FY26, advances green push with methanol bunkering
New Delhi: On the occasion of 63rd National Maritime Day, Deendayal Port Authority said it has achieved a historic milestone of handling 160.11 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo in FY 2025-26, the highest-ever cargo volume handled by any major port in India.
Over 915 million tonnes cargo handled by major Indian ports in FY2025-26
Major ports under the Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways handled 915.17 million tonnes (MT) of cargo during the financial year 2025-26, surpassing the annual target of 904 MT, and registering a strong year-on-year growth of 7.06%.
